can enameled cast iron cook ware handle the heat of a wood stove ?

i want to put a pot of water on top of a wood stove. i will use the water for tea, and as a humidifier.

i want to leave it unattended for 16 hours.

it may run out of water.

i need a pot that can handle the heat.

i realize cast iron can handle the heat, but it will rust.

i realize enameled cast iron wont rust, but can it handle the heat?

if not, any suggestions of what i could use?

Yes it can handle the heat. But, You never want to use a cast iron tea pot style humidifier for making water for tea. You can not maintain a seasoning when boiling water in cast iron and the interior of the cast iron Tea Kettle will be rusted and full of mineral buildup. For a humidifier it is perfectly ok to use the tea kettle style of cast iron as a humidifier only but, for your tea water use a stainless steel tea pot like you get at the kitchen store. just be careful of the plastic handle. If you can find one with a metal handle its that much better!
